Revodent

Employer connection between Revodent and Faculty of Dentistry Univeristas Indonesia was conducted. The Speaker of this event was drg. Rio Suryantoro, Sp.KG, with the theme of Basic Daily Endodontic Case Report Management from Isolation to Endodontic Obturation. This Hands-on was available for General Dentist. One of the main factor that affect the successful of endodontic treatment is the operator’s ability to shape and clean the root canals into the working length in a proper manner. The prognosis of endodontic treatment can be as high as 96% without any previous apical lesion. In 1974, Schilder stated that the general aim of biomechanical instrumentation is to clean all the organic substances and shape the root canal walls so that the obturation can be done hermetically. Recently, we are surrounded with many advancement of endodontic instruments which makes our treatment more effective and efficient. The diversity can be seen from the file rake angle, materials, kinematics, and more focuses in engine driven instruments. In the other hand, the basic knowledge of biomechanical instrumentation, pulp anatomy, working field isolation, and operator skills are still the main factor in creating a predictable root canal treatment outcomes. The outcome of endodontic treatments does not rely on a proper disinfection process only, but also on tight-sealed fillings of the canals as barriers to prevent re-infection. Therefore, root filling material is necessary to obturate the root canal in fluid tight seal 3-dimensionally on the main canal as well as the accessory canals. The ideal root filling material should have inert properties, good adhesive ability and result in voids-free obturation along the root canals.
